After much deliberation, I decide to have him introduce me to the inn.
It's not that I don't have the courage to visit some place that's rife with scary rumors and far removed from civilization. That's not what it is. At least, that's what I'd like to say.
There was much deliberation involved.
Kei: In that case, please give me an introduction.
As I lower my head in a bow, he hits his chest in a habitual gesture of approval.
Station worker: Excellent. Leave it to me. Come on, I wouldn't do anything bad to you.
Station worker: At any rate, you gotta strike while the iron is hot, eh? If we go now, you'll make it in time for dinner.
After using a big-handed watch to confirm the time, he flies from his examination office with a "Hyoi!" and whimsically lifts my luggage.
Kei: Wah, are you sure that's okay?
Station worker: Is what okay?
Kei: Leaving the office on your own like that?
Station worker: Everything's fine, no problem. The next train is a while yet, and between deadlines and generally few visitors, it'll just pass right by.
That's why you don't need people manning a station. Evidently it was something like this, or so I've heard.
If that's the case, you'd think it would be better to make it a deserted station, but perhaps some circumstances are involved.
Station worker: Oi! Something the matter, ma'am?
As the station worker calls out to me from the entrance.
Because I was lost in thought, I was left in the dust.
Kei: No, nothing at all!
I respond energetically and chase after him.
